A few weeks ago we went to visit our friends at Station 9. Ori was so excited to learn that their regular ladder truck was at the repair shop and a tiller ladder truck was parked in its place in the bay! The firefighters were happy to show the boys all around the truck.
They even gave Ori a ride, too.
Did I mention that they let him drive? No, really! Ori sat with Firefighter Greg in the back of the tiller truck and helped him drive it out of the station and around the corner. What a thrill!
The firefighters also gave Ori a medal. It's a special medal that Firefighter John received for his heroism during a large fire here in the valley that took the life of a fellow firefighter. On the back he wrote "Ori, you're our hero. Your Station 9 friends." We all shed a few tears when we saw that.
The medal now comes with us every time we go to the hospital.
