612, 527, 704....
...and we have three days with an ANC above 500 and Ori's cells have officially engrafted! We are beyond excited! We went to bed last night so hopeful that today's ANC would still hover above 500. What a relief to know that we are now ready to move forward!
Ori still has some work to do before we can go home. After not eating or drinking for a solid three weeks, he is slowly getting back into the habit. He is eating small amounts at each meal, slowly helping his taste buds come back to life and his stomach to work again. And beginning tomorrow he'll begin taking his medications orally.
Since his ANC is higher, he is now able to leave the room again and walk the halls. He spent almost two hours today in the hallways talking with the nurses and watching all of the activity. It was so awesome to see, and it was great for his body, too.
We are so proud of both of our boys. Ori has worked so hard, doing things that were difficult and doing them while he was at times feeling awful. And Andon has been so flexible, spending lots of time with GJ and at the hospital. We have all somehow managed to make this work, and I'm pretty proud of all of us.
Hopefully we'll be home soon!
