This week will be the fourth attempt for Ori's 6-hr all-day chemo-palooza. The past 3 weeks he hasn't made counts, meaning his blood work didn't show his immune system at a high enough level to inject all that chemo into his body.
The doctors want him at a minimum ANC (Absolute Neutrophil Count) b/c the chemo will flatten out his immune system for a few weeks and if his ANC isn't high enough to begin w/, he'd run the risk of infection if they did the big chemo treatment.
So, each week we wait for his bone marrow to recover more and more.
While we've been waiting, Andon has started laughing (w/ some heavy prodding) and may even be starting to show his first tooth! Video and pics to follow...
We've also been busy doing a little renovating (okay, painting), giving new life to our front doors and house trim. It's low budget, low hours and easy to chip away at during naps and weekends. Pics of the new look will follow, too.
:)
