Oh, so close

We are one spinal tap away from Ori moving into the final stage of his treatment: maintenance. That stage will last the remaining 2.5 yrs of the treatment process.

The best part is, he'll go from a weekly patient to a monthly patient at the oncology clinic (and the less blood draws and procedures, the better).

We were hoping to reach that point this past week, but Ori's ANC (his immune system) was roughly 20% of what it needs to be for a procedure like a spinal tap. So, we'll try again a week later and see if his body has boosted his ANC high enough.

Last time this happened he took 4 weeks to reach that level. We're hoping for a speedier process this time.

In the mean time, this past weekend we all had tons of fun (13 tons of fun, to be exact) with dirt and rocks. In an effort to spruce up the front yard a bit we had 7 tons of dirt and 6 tons of rock delivered. Ori got excited to see a dump truck backing into his own driveway... until it started to pour out its load, which turned Ori's thrill into fright. Like sitting on Santa's lap - a little too real and up close to handle, I guess.

Anyway, Mom & Dad managed to shovel up and relocate all 7 tons of dirt on Saturday (to create mounds and level off some areas) and then all 6 tons of rock on Sunday. And we had some help along the way...

This seems like as good a place as any to stop pedaling
