Enjoying Hospital Free Days

The days have been flying by since our last post back in November.  We are already 3 months into our next phase of treatment, and things are going very well.  Ori is on a 10 week cycle; 6 weeks of daily chemo at home, a month of weekly chemo at the clinic, then repeat 5 times.

Since Ori's immunity has been much higher, we have had lots of time to go places, see friends and family, and just enjoy some weeks of normal life.  At the end of January we took our first trip in almost 4 years.  We piled into the car and drove to CA to visit Legoland.  It was just wonderful, and the boys loved every minute of it!

We have thoroughly enjoyed the transition back into a hospital free life.  We didn't realize how stressful and time consuming all of the hospital stays were until we experienced about a month of free weekends.  We suddenly have all of this free time together!  Needless to say, it has been terrific.  We still visit the clinic almost every week, but all of those two to four hour visits pale in comparison to days at the hospital.

Ori is doing very well.  None of the medications bother him at all, except for the steroid he takes for five days once every two months.  He gets tired and worn out, kind of like he has the flu.  But then when it's done, he's right back to where he left off, playing with Andon and having fun.  Life is good.
