My friend Rachel has a dear friend, Captain Dean, who works for the Phoenix Fire Department. When he and his friend Captain John heard about Ori's relapse, they wanted to do something special for him.
It just so happens that Captain John is the lead trainer with the Arizona Search Dogs, http://www.arizonasearchdogs.com/.
So why did we hit the road at 6:30am last Friday morning? To see the rescue dogs in action of course!
Ori and Andon were thrilled to see Mac find the firefighter hiding in the pile of rubble!
We learned so much about rescue dogs and the amount of time that it takes to train one. The dogs and their handlers are dedicated rescue heroes! Thanks for introducing us to the dogs everyone!
Captain Dean also gave us a tour of Fire Headquarters.
Ori thought it was awesome to be at the headquarters where the chief works! He also thought the fire dispatch area was pretty cool, too.
And of course our day wouldn't be complete without a tour of a fire station, so off to Station 1 we went!
Of course the thrill of the station was the pole! I mean TWO poles!
The firefighters were awesome! They showed Ori all around the station, let him spray the water and even take a ride.
What a fantastic day!

Wow, what can top this one? I am so happy that there are so many wonderful people out there -- many of whom are fire fighters!
