Summer Fun

What a fun summer we've had!  We were able to take a trip to Strawberry, AZ and, thanks to a generous donor at the hospital, we went to our first Diamondbacks baseball game.  It was wonderful to be out with the boys in both places, just having fun and enjoying the new experiences.

Of course we visited the Strawberry-Pine Fire Station on our trip.  They were so nice and were so happy to show us all around!

I'm glad that we got out and did what we could when we could, because just a few weeks into June, Ori's numbers lowered to the point where we had to stay home for quite some time.  Ori has received such intensive chemotherapy for so long that his body just had a hard time recovering.  It was a bit unexpected, but we managed to enjoy the time at home.

We spent many afternoons swimming in the pool, playing games, and reading new books.  Ori had a terrific birthday, even though he couldn't have a party with friends.  And the boys didn't mind staying at home a bit which really was all we could ask for after 6 weeks staying at home.

Finally, Ori's body recuperated, and he was able to start cycle 4 of the 5 cycle treatment.  We were so relieved!  We've been able to get out these past two weeks and it has been wonderful!  Ori was able to finally have a birthday party with a few friends and visit a fire station of course.

We are hopeful that these last 2 cycles will be smooth, without any delays, but we know that anything can happen.
