Last week our friends at Station 1 called and invited us over for a visit. The boys were thrilled! They were especially excited to see the Command Van.
Firefighter Chuck and Firefighter Charlie showed us all around. Andon got a little tired, but Ori could have stayed all day! After I said it was time to go, it took us 30 minutes to finally make it out of the station and back to our car. He is just so curious and wants to know everything! And the firefighters were happy to show and tell.
Ori had a great time at the hospital this past weekend. They were putting up Christmas trees all over the hospital. Most of them were decorated with items that the kids could take home, including ornaments and special gifts. It was amazing!
When it was time to go home, Firefighter Chuck called to see if Ori wanted a ride home on Ladder 1. Did he ever! Both boys were excited to ride in a fire truck at night. The firefighters turned on the lights at our house and even stayed a bit to show Ori some things on the truck. They were so great!
So we are home, hopefully without a hospital stay for 2 months. What perfect timing! Ori will still visit the clinic once a week for some chemotherapy and a check up, but that is all. We are all excited to enjoy some days at home.
